Sockets is an angry, bitter, unappreciated but hard-working clown trying his damnedest to get the ungrateful little runts of the world to crack a smile.
Created and animated by Derek Vowles, each frame was hand-drawn on traditional hole-punched animation paper, scanned in, colored, and composited on a Mac; then filmed off the monitor, frame by frame, with a 16mm Bolex camera.
The original soundtrack, sadly lost to time, was composed and performed by the very talented Greg Rutledge. His distinctive theme inspired the soundtrack to the follow-up, Bring Me the Head of Sockets the Clown. |
